Freda V. Williams, 92, of Strasburg died peacefully on Wednesday, March 3, 2010.

She was a wonderful homemaker who had also been employed at Drop Forge in Canton during WW II, and had also worked at Sparta Ceramics and in the mailroom at the Times Reporter.

Born October 22, 1917 in Rock Hill, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Walter and Mary Hanson Hess. Freda was also preceded in death by her husband, Emerson R. Williams who died on July 30, 1982; son, Larry Gene Williams and seven brothers and six sisters.

She was a member of the Strasburg United Methodist Church.

A loving and caring mother and grandmother Freda will be sadly missed by her daughters, Joyce (Max) Bonifant, Marsha (Art) Mann and Gail (Robert) Owen all of Strasburg; sister, Mary Bower of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Rod, Tod, Scott (Jodi), Chad (Valarie) Bonifant, Jody (Randy) Troyer, Jim (Tracy), Phillip (Margaret) and Don (Molly) Mann, Darren (Cheryl) Clum, Darla (Rich) Reding and Jennifer Mahoney; step grandchildren, Terry (Brenda) and Mitch (Shannon) Owen; great grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Sierra, Kiersten, Reis, Gage, Santana, Seger and Maya Bonifant, Amanda (Zack) Wisselgren and Tyler Lester, Chris, Eric, Issac and Tasha Mann, Jeremy Westfall, Emma, Ian and Isabella Clum, Olivia Gardinsky, Wyatt Reding, Marissa and Sarah Van de Vusse; step great grandchildren, Tiffany Gerber, Tara Page, Trisha Troyer and Monica and Maddy Willis, Angie (Jason) Jones, Anthony Hershberger, Greg, Samantha, Emily, Karah, Rachel, Jacob, Joan, Madalyn, and Michael Owen; great-great grandchildren, Jacob and Haley Wisselgren and Ty and Alexis Mann; five step great-great grandchildren, Cameron, Lindsey and Jessie Jones and Mitchell and Bradon Troyer.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 11:30 am in the Strasburg United Methodist Church with Rev. Lynda K. Masters officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. Friends can call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover on Friday from 4-7 pm.
