Frederick J. ''Fritz'' Rothacher

Frederick J. “Fritz” Rothacher Jr., 79, of Beach City died peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at his home following a sudden illness.

He retired in 1984 as a bull Dozer Operator for GEX Hardy Inc. with over 18 years of service.

Born May 14, 1923 near Dover he was a son of the late Frederick “Pete” and Ida Pearl Yeager Rothacher.

He attended Holiest Temple near Strasburg, was a WW II Army Veteran having served in the European Theatre, life member of Dover VFW and was a member of AARP. He loved going on scenic drives, finding old covered bridges and dining with his sisters. He also enjoyed helping people. All you would have to do is call, and he would be there.

Fritz was preceded in death by his wife Mary Louise Burchfield Rothacher who died on July 19, 1991.

He is survived by two sons: Estel L. (Marlene) Rothacher of Dundee
Mark A. Rothacher of New Philadelphia

Two step-sons: Phil (Sandy) Whitten of Bolivar
Harold Whitten of Canton

One step-daughter: Phyllis (Ronald) Dierdorf of Granite Falls, North Carolina

Larry (Carolyn) Rothacher of Ft. Wayne, Indiana

He was also preceded in death by a sister: Sophia Rothacher

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2002 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services. Friends can call at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8 pm.
