Frederick L. Clugston, 57, of Canton, a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother died Monday, July 11, 2005 at Aultman Hospital following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
He retired from the Hoover Company in 2003 with 34 years of service and had also worked at Fisher Foods in Canton for 28 years.
Born October 5, 1947 in Canton he was a son of the late Norman and Mary “Nadine” Seward Clugston.
Fred loved all sports, especially golf where he had three holes in one and bowling where he rolled three perfect games. Being an avid sports fan, Fred enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in athletic events. He served his country with honor during the Vietnam War, having achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant in the Air Force.
Fred is survived by his wife, Brenda Marburger Clugston, with whom he would have celebrated 35 years of marriage on July 19, 2005.
He is also survived by two daughters, Amy (Larry) Good of Canton and Heather (Brad) Krumpak of Dublin; son, Kevin Clugston of Canton; two brothers, David (Linda) Clugston of Bolivar and Michael (Diane) Clugston of Dover; father in law, Merle Marburger of Dover; two grandsons, Joshua and Jacob Good; many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a nephew, Scott Clugston; mother in law, Ruth Marburger and brother in law, Larry Marburger.
A celebration of Fred�(TM)s life will be held on Friday, July 15, 2005 at 11:00 am at St. John�(TM)s United Church Christ in Dover with Rev. Dan Schaefer officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Friends can call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory in Dover on Thursday from 1-3 and 6-8 pm.
