Frederick W. Aul, 94, of Strasburg passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022 in the Park Village Health Care Center at Dover.

Fred was born on April 8, 1929 in Strasburg to the late John and Ann Meiers Aul. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Fern Aul on February 14, 1990 after 36 years of marriage; daughter, Julie Schmidt; sister, Jean Zurfley and step-son, Rocky Boylan.

Fred proudly served his country with the US Army during the Korean War as a Tank Commander. Following the war, he was employed at Zedmark in Parrall and retired in 1993 after many years of service. Fred was a very handy person who could fix just about anything; he was an excellent carpenter and enjoyed gardening. He loved playing euchre, and would play with family and friends every week for many years. He was also an active member of St. John United Church of Christ at Strasburg.

Fred is survived by his second wife, Mary Jane Kennedy Aul whom he married on January 26, 1991; children, Sandy (Don) Hughey of South Carolina, Jeff (Lisa) Aul of Bolivar; step-children, Sandy (Karen) Boylan of Dayton, Dan (Brenda) Boylan of Dover, John (Holly) Boylan of Strasburg; grandchildren, Michael Hughey, Kelly “Bo” Hughey, Jen (Mike) Telle, Angie (Dan) Curran, Ashley (Lisa) Tsantis, Jessica (Bret) Elliott, Kayla (Joe) Patton, Sara Williams, Nick Aul; great grandchildren, Sawyer and Avery Patton; Kelly, Sarah and Noah Hughey; Mason, Kylee, and Sophia Curran; Jackson and Austin Telle; Dylan, Evan and Emma Hughey, Hudson Elliott; niece, Bridget Harris; step grandchildren, Scott and Sean Boylan, Heather (Mike) Grasselli, Gretchen Brag, Heath Boylan, Shayla Wray, Jessica and Lucas Boylan, Kristen Pepera; step great grandchildren, Jackson, Kendall, Madison, Olivia, Beckett, Aviana, Maty, Mya, Layton and Benjamin.

Private funeral services will be held in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Strasburg. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg.
