Freeda M. Smith, 92, of New Philadelphia, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, in Union Hospital, Dover, following an illness of three months.
Born May 30, 1910, in Byesville, she was the daughter of the late David C. and Viola Parsons Hudson. Freeda was a graduate of Byesville High School, and was a homemaker. She was also employed by Muskingum College, New Concord.
Freeda was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah�(TM)s Witnesses, New Philadelphia. She enjoyed painting and sewing.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda C. (Robert) Hines of New Philadelphia; two sons, William R. (Theresa) and Richard L. (Nancy) Smith, both of Columbus; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Clark Smith, and by a brother, Harold Hudson.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at 3:30 p.m., in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah�(TM)s Witnesses, 1212 Kelly St. N.W., New Philadelphia. Gary Gontero will officiate. Immediately following the service, there will be a reception in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center, 831 Boulevard, Dover. Burial will be private in East Avenue Cemetery.
