Frieda H. Lieser, 93, of the Trinity Community of Beavercreek and a former Dover resident died Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in her home following an extended illness.
Frieda was born May 13, 1921 in Somerdale, Ohio, she was one of twelve children to the late John and Veronica (Elmrick) Stotzer.
She was a longtime member of the St. John's United Church of Christ in Dover and was involved in the church circle and was a previous leader. She was also active in the Tuscarawas County Senior Citizens and the Brandywine Grange. She had many interests including reading, sewing and embroidery and enjoyed word find puzzles and crafts. She also loved gardening. She will be remembered for her friendliness and giving heart and became an instant friend to anyone she met. She enjoyed watching the grinnies and birds and had a special attraction for red birds and cardinals.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, James V. Lieser who died Oct. 17, 1990. In addition, she was also preceded by four sisters, Mary Kilchenmann, Martha Leeman, Clara Vogt, and Ida Pepper-Shaffer and three brothers, John Stotzer, Robert Stotzer and Fritz Stotzer.
She will be sadly missed by her family including her three children, James P. (Elizabeth) Lieser of Tallahassee, Florida, Marie (Pat) Hodges of Tallahassee and Jeanne (John) Lumpcik of Beavercreek, OH; seven grandchildren, Benjamin (Kimberly) Lieser, Rebekah (Joseph) Dorn, Rosemary (Ryan) Tapia, Michelle (Rob) Hart, Cassie Richards, Joshua (Maggie) Lumpcik, and Shannon Lumpcik; along with eleven great grandchildren; three sisters, Grace Specht, Ruth Breniser, and Helen (Vic) Kollar; one brother, Walter (Gladys) Stotzer and a sister in law, Janet Stotzer.
Pastor Dotty Hartzell will officiate the service celebrating Frieda's life on Monday, March 16, 2015 beginning at 1pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover. Interment will be in the Ft. Laurens Cemetery at Bolivar. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-5pm.
