G. Adrian Lengler, 92, of Dover, Ohio died Monday, December 2, 2002 in the Hennis Care Centre at Bolivar following an extended illness.
Adrian was a retired Tool and Die Maker for the former Reeves Steel Co. at Dover where he worked for 43 years. Following retirement, he was a projectionist at local movie theatres. He also operated a lawn mower sharpening service for many years.
Born October 3, 1910 near Zoar, Ohio, he was the son of the late John and Florence Wertz Lengler.
He was an active member of the St John�(TM)s United Church of Christ where he formerly operated the Audio Visual room of the church, was a Boy Scout Leader from 1951-53, and received the Men�(TM)s Fellowship Man of the Year Award. He was also a former Dover City Councilman. He was a Life Member of the Dover Elks Lodge #975, and a 24 year member of the F.O.P. He was a member of the former Odd Fellows Lodge. During World War II, he was a civil defense worker.
Adrian is survived by his wife Fay Elizabeth Miller Lengler with whom he would have celebrated 70 years of marriage this Dec. 29.
He is also survived by his son, Richard Adrian (Priscilla) Lengler of Malabar, Florida; two grandsons Richard Scott Lengler of Malabar, Fla. And Keith Andrew Lengler of Orlando, Florida; Two great grandchildren Sarah and Matthew Lengler; and a sister, Eva Steinbaugh of Canton.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Verda Lahmers.
Funeral Services will be held Friday at 2 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. Steve Daniels officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from noon until 2 pm.
