G. Larry Wallick, 63, of 244 Park Ave. N.W., New Philadelphia, Ohio died Thursday, June 8, 2006 in his home following a long courageous bout with cancer.
Born July 13, 1942 in Dover, he was the son of the late Garver and Hilda Feutz Wallick.
Larry was a sales representative for Walnut Creek Foods until illness forced his retirement. He had also previously been employed by Associated Grocers.
He was a US Army veteran having served in Viet Nam. He was a 1960 graduate of Strasburg High School. His family and friends were the most important thing in his life. He was also an avid bicyclist and enjoyed traveling the country with his wife, Carol on their motorcycle.
Larry is survived by his wife, Carol Seward Wallick with whom he would have celebrated 28 years of marriage on December 16; He is also survived by four children, Laurie (Eric) Stanbro of Lake Mohawk, Troy Wallick of Wadsworth, Theresa Kirkpatrick of Waynesville, North Carolina and Tracie (David) Gaetano of Marysville, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Kendra Kirkpatrick, Cheyenne Wallick, Nicholas Wallick, Vanessa Stanbro, Zack Elliott, Sierra and Dominic Gaetano; his mother in law, Agnes Seward of New Philadelphia; four brothers, Terry (Nikki) Wallick of New Philadelphia, Kenny and Denny (Rita) Wallick both of Dover and Randy (Michelle) Wallick of Labadie, Missouri; two special God children, Samantha and Michael Mahaffey; two sisters in law, Linda (Andy) Yosick of New Philadelphia and Diana (Gary) Fox of New Philadelphia and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father in law, J. Robert Seward.
A service celebrating Larry�(TM)s life will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2006 at 11am in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in New Philadelphia with Pastor Michael Walters and longtime family friend, Rev. Richard Powell officiating. The service will be followed by military honors. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Monday from 5-8 pm. Emmanuel Lutheran Church Council will have prayer services Monday at 8pm. Friends may also call at the church Tuesday from 10-11am.
