Gail E. Herman, 62, of Dover died Saturday, July 3, 2004 at University Hospital in Cleveland following complications from a stoke.

He retired in 1991 as a Captain of Detectives for the Dover Police Department after 28 years of service.

Born February 5, 1942 in Dover he was a son of the late Sheldon “Pete” and Wilma Kramer Herman.

He was a member of St. John�(TM)s United Church of Christ in Dover and the FOP Tuscora Lodge #4. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy.

Gail is survived by his wife Cheryl Potschner Herman with whom he would have celebrated 37 years of marriage on October 28, 2004.

He is also survived by two sons, Adam Herman and his fiancé Cheryl Myers of Dover and Aaron Herman of Dover; two brothers, Bart Herman of Dover and Gary (Diane) Herman of Macon, Georgia.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Billie K. Herman.

Cremation has taken place. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Gail�(TM)s life on Friday, July 9, 2004 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. The Rev. Steve Daniels will officiate, and at the family�(TM)s request, friends will have the opportunity to take part in the service by sharing their favorite story of Gail. The Tuscora Lodge will conduct FOP services on Friday. Those wishing to express their fondest memories of Gail may do so by visiting the on line obituaries link on the funeral homes website.
