Galen D. ''Perk'' Maurer, 77, of Dundee, died Wednesday, July3, 2002 in Union Hospital.
He had worked for 34 years on the Railroad with Norfolk and Southern.
Born January 3, 1925 at Sugarcreek, he was son of the late Webster & Hulda Jentes Maurer.
Galen was a World War II veteran of the Army who served in Alaska. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing canoeing and boating.
He is survived by his wife Edith Lenarz Maurer, whom he wed on June 23, 1951.

In addition to his parents, Galen was preceded in death by a brother, Clayton Maurer.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 8, at 11:00am in Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover with Rev. Dan Legg officiating. Interment will be in the Dundee Cemetery where military graveside rights will be held. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 5-8pm.
