Gara L. Mizer, 69, of Dover died Friday, November 17, 2017 in the Community Hospice Truman House.
Born December 19, 1947 in Dover he was a son of the late Chester and Mary Troendly Mizer. Gara was also preceded in death by his sister, Irene Lauer and brother in law, Ernie Beachy. He retired from Oxford Mining in Coshocton after 32 years of service as a Heavy Equipment Operator and was a proud Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Gara is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sharon Arbogast Mizer, whom he married on June 22, 1972; daughter, Tami Turley of Dover; sister, Ruth Beachy of Dundee, and her companion, William Harper; brother, Gail (Sally) Mizer of Florida; brother in law, Dick Lauer of Cincinnati and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 21 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Pastor Max Canfield officiating. Interment will be in the Stone Creek Cemetery where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services. Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover on Monday from 5-7 pm.
