Garry J. Derrow, 73, of Dover passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 in the Community Hospice Truman House.
Born on September 18, 1947 in Millersburg, Garry was the son of the late Dean “Jack” and Eilene Jarvis Derrow. Garry was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Derrow.
Garry proudly served his country with the United States Army. Following his discharge, he worked for a number of places including Republic Steel for 27 years, finally retiring in 2011 from Sysco in Palm Beach, Florida as a diesel mechanic. He was a member of the New Philadelphia VFW and the Dover Eagles. Garry enjoyed fishing and loved listening to music on the jukebox at the VFW, earning him the nickname “Jukebox Garry.”
He is survived by his children, Dustin (Dana) Derrow of Massillon, Jackie (Jeff) Ping of Navarre; sister, Shirley Williamson of Dover; grandchildren, Logan, Katelyn, Knox and Tyler.
Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
