Gary Lee Snyder

Gary Lee Snyder, 67, of Warrior, Alabama and formerly of New Philadelphia passed on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at his home.
Born in Massillon, Ohio on June 29, 1943 he was a son of Betty L. McNickle Snyder of Warren, Ohio and the late Paul D. Snyder Sr. In addition to his father, Gary was also preceded in death by his sister in law, Cinda Snyder and a nephew Blaine D. Snyder.
Gary graduated from Garaway High School in 1961 and attended Kent State University and Lakeland Community College. In 1970 he graduated from the 85th class of the Ohio State Trooper Academy. While serving as a State Trooper Gary was chosen as Patrolman of the year in 1975 and later promoted to Sergeant and named assistant commander at the Springfield Post. He later retired from TNT Logistics in Moody, Alabama in September of 2010.
Gary is survived by his wife of 25 years, Susanne Marie Muster Snyder whom he married on October 20, 1985. He is also survived by five daughters, Shawna (Karl) Pettinger, Marti Justus, Misha (Dennis) Beam, Amy (Mike) Nazarchyk and Annie (Dale) Goodwin; brothers, Paul "Dan" Snyder Jr. and William G. "Bill" (Marsha) Snyder; 15 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Rev. Debbie Saxe officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Friends can call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8. The Ohio State Highway Patrol will provide escort and honors.
