Gaynelle C. Schlabach

Gaynelle C. Schlabach, 74, of Dover, died on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Born in Montgomery, Alabama, on August 18, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Bertha (Haskew) Coon.  Gaynelle graduated from Opelika High School.  On August 14, 1965, she married Perry Schlabach, who preceded her in death on November 1, 2004.  She was also preceded in death by her infant brother, Homer Coon; aunt, Susie Brown; niece, Bonita Weldon; nephew, Danny Ray, sister; Johnnie Brown; brother, Charlie Coon; and her brother in law, Bill Brown.   

Gaynelle attended the Winfield United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed reading and especially loved spending time with her beloved granddaughter, Julia Michelle Schlabach.  

She will be sadly missed by her children; Charles Schlabach of Sugarcreek, Kimberly Schlabach of Alabama; brother, Ronnie Coon of Alabama; her granddaughter, Julia;  nieces, Christy (Tommy) Hill, Becky (Steve) Powell; nephews, Tye (Melinda) Weldon, and Mike Weldon.  

In honoring Gaynelle’s wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover.  There will not be any services or calling hours.  To sign an online guestbook for Gaynelle, visit the obituary link on the funeral home’s website.
