Gene A. Flickinger

Gene A. Flickinger, 72, of Dover died Wednesday, October 26, 2016 in Union Hospital following a brief illness.

Gene was the President of Flick's Drilling Inc. in Dover.

Born September 19, 1944 in Dover, he was the son of the late Roy and Ada (Hanni) Flickinger. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by three brothers, Alvin, Wayne, and Charles.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Strasburg and a 1962 graduate of Strasburg Franklin High School. He was also a member of the Atwood Yacht Club and Dover Moose Lodge. Gene will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and as an avid Nascar fan.

He will be sadly missed by his family including his wife of nearly 32 years, Ruthann "Harv" (Kihn) Flickinger who were married on November 10; five children, Ron (Diana) Flickinger of Strasburg, Deborah (Jake Billmaier) Betts of New Philadelphia, Tracia (Ted) Wellman of Dover, Tonya (T.J.) Wilkins of Canton and Tiffany (Todd) Packard of Lodi; nine grandchildren, Amanda, Kylie, Ronica, Kenzie, Ashley, Ty, Henry, Shelby and Olivia and two great grandchildren, Madden and JD along with his brother, Richard (Gail) Flickinger of Strasburg.

At Gene's request, cremation will take place and a private service will be held at a later date. There are no calling hours.
