Geneva Fay Strauss, 86, of Dundee died Saturday, May 6, 2005 at the Walnut Hills Nursing Home following an extended illness.
Born November 14, 1919 in Beach City, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Ada Wilson Ebersole.
Geneva was a member of Barrs Mill Church of God in Sugarcreek. Church was one of the most important aspects of her life, she loved music as was evident by the many solo�(TM)s she would sing during worship. She also was active in the Ladies Missionary Society and taught Sunday school for many years. Geneva also enjoyed cooking and baking, and was known for her delicious sweet rolls and pies. Her other loves included spending time with her family, reading and working outdoors in her vegetable and flower garden. Earlier in her life she served on the PTO Board at Dundee Elementary School.
Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Strauss who died on September 30, 1997.
She is survived by two daughters, Janice Strauss Hayes and her friend David Eckert of Dundee and Joyce King also of Dundee; sister, Bessie Bentz of Wooster; four grandchildren, Barry, Stan and Matt King and Jessamine Hill; nine great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Randy King; two brothers, Noel and Arthur “Junior” Ebersole and a great grandson.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at 1:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover with Pastor Eldon King officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. Friends can call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
