George M. Weaver, 90, of Dover, died Friday, October 3, 2003 following a seven week illness.
Retired from the Family Buick & Cadillac dealership (formerly Weaver Buick Cadillac) and had also worked in sales with Weaver Truck Trailer.
Born October 25, 1912 at Dover, he was the son of the late Victor and Emma Machan Weaver.
George was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover and had also been a life member of the Dover Elks and Eagles. He touched countless lives and was a dear friend to many.
He served his country honorably during World Ward II as a member of the Army�(TM)s 34th Infantry Division and the 109th Medical Battalion, which was credited with the evacuation and rescue of over 50, 000 wounded members of the infantry from battlefields in Tunisia and Italy.
George was preceded in death by his wife Rita (Brice) Weaver, who passed away on August 26, 1976.
Survivors include: a daughter; Dianne Burnworth of New Philadelphia, two grandchildren; Doug & Jeff Burnworth, a sister; Rita Sulcer of FL, two brothers; Jim Weaver of Dover and Tom Weaver of Mineral City, and his special friend; Leora Barlock of New Phila.
In addition to his parents and wife, George was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Maurice and infant brother Dale.
A public memorial service will be held Monday, October 6, at 7:00 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover with Deacon Ron Fondriest officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until the service begins at 7:00 p.m.
In keeping with George�(TM)s wishes, his body has been cremated. Burial will take place in a private family ceremony at the Dover Burial Park.
