Gerald B. ''Jerry'' Huff

Gerald B. “Jerry” Huff, 78, of Dover died Wednesday, May 22, 2002 in his home.

He retired as a Truck Driver from Joy Manufacturing after 44 years of service.

Born August 17, 1923 in Dennison he was a son of the late Bryan and Margaret Hurless Huff.

He was an Army veteran of WW II having served in the 7th Infantry Regiment 3rd Infantry Division in North Africa, Naples, Rome, Southern France and the Rhineland. He participated in the first landing on the Anzio beachhead.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a life member of the Dover VFW. He enjoyed gardening, working in his vineyard and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Gerald is survived by his wife Sue Lab Huff with whom he would have celebrated 39 years of marriage on September 14, 2002.

He is also survived by his four children: Cynthia (David) Wright of New Philadelphia
Melinda (Philip) Drechsler of Toledo
David (Susan) Huff of Seville, Ohio
Philip Huff of Atlanta, Georgia

Eight grandchildren: Laura, David, Douglas, Sarah, Jennifer, Rebecca, Elizabeth and
Zachary.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2002 at 9:30 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Deacon Ron Fondriest officiating. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Dover where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services. Friends can call at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8 pm with Christian Wake Services starting at 7:30.
