Gerald L. “Jerry” Kimble, 84, of Dover died on Saturday, October 30, 2021 in the Community Hospice Truman House.
Born on August 22, 1937 in Dover he was the son of the late Oscar and Isabelle Mason Kimble. Jerry was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Gladys Kimble; great grandson, Michael Lanzer Doby Jr. and great granddaughter, Sophia Grace Swarny.
Jerry was the owner of Kimble Clock Repair, and he also retired as the manager of Dover Hardware after many decades of service. Never one to sit still, following his retirement from Dover Hardware, he was employed at the House of Stones.
He was a member of the Wooster Highway Church of God in Dover, and was also a member of the Tuscarawas Lodge #59 F&AM also in Dover. In his younger years, Jerry was a pilot who enjoyed flying his own plane.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, Jerry is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley Tedrick Kimble whom he married on June 28, 1959; children, Lori Kimble of Arizona, Debbie (Jay) Diegmiller of Dover, Jerry (Cheryl) Kimble of Marietta, Karen (Roy) Combs of Newcomerstown; sister, Carol (Glenn) Medley of Colorado; 17 grandchildren, Stacy, Lisa, Kylie, Jennifer, Joshua, Michael, Ashley, Jessica, Jeremy, Lindsay, Brittany, Raven, Katy, Jace, Mathew, Braylon, Bryson; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 2nd starting at 2:00 pm at the Dover Burial Park with Pastor David Wing and Pastor Seth Harding officiating. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover is handling arrangements.
