Gerald W. Lorenz

Gerald W. Lorenz, 88, of Dover died on May 21, 2010 at Schoenbrunn Healthcare following an extended illness.

Born on April 21, 1922 in Coshocton County, he was the son of the late Ernest and Bessie Welling Lorenz. He married the love of his life, Mary Miller, on February 2, 1946. Mary preceded him in death on December 12, 2008.

He honorably served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

In 1982, Gerald retired from Gundy Construction Company in New Philadelphia. He was a life member of the Dover Elks Lodge and a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Dover.

His son; James Lorenz of Dover and his two grandchildren, Lindsay Lorenz of Zoar and Adam Gray of University Heights, survive Gerald.

A private funeral service will be held on Monday at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Following the funeral, entombment will take place in the Garden of Peace Mausoleum at Dover Burial Park.
