Gertrude M. (Frantz) Gordon Seibert, 84, of 1204 Crater Ave., Dover, Ohio died Sunday, March 19, 2000 in the Cleveland Clinic following a brief illness.
She worked with her late husband Smiley Gordon in the operation of Gordon Printing Company at Strasburg.
Born July 8, 1915 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Joseph H. and Florence Augusta VanLehn Frantz.
She was devoted to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and loved and was a life long member of the First Moravian Church at Dover and its Morning Star Circle. She was also a member of the Ecumenical Bible Study Group at Seton Square. She was also a member of the Salvation Army Auxiliary, Tuscarawas County Duplicate Bridge Club, and was a former member of the Alpha Pi Sigma Sorority, Union Country Club, and the Union Hospital Twigs. She was a 1933 graduate of Dover High School and attended Safford Business College. She enjoyed competing in bridge tournaments and loved birds and flower gardening.
Gertrude was preceded in death by her first husband, Smiley D. Gordon who died January 26, 1982. She was blessed by her second marriage to Harry (Sonny) Seibert with whom she would have celebrated 13 years of marriage on October 2.
She is also survived by five children Richard E. Gordon of Dover, Linda Gordon of Strasburg, Ron (Kathy) Gordon of Strasburg, Judy (Ernie) Brooker of Cincinnati, and Sally (Garry) DeVault of Strasburg.
One Sister Ann Schneider of Midland, Michigan and her stepson, Dave (Midge) Seibert of North Canton.
12 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren, and one great great grandson.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Gay Elaine Gordon and two brothers, Elmer and Harry Frantz.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2000 at 6:00 PM in the First Moravian Church at Dover with Rev. Allen Bergmann officiating. Cremation will take place and interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends will be received Saturday from 5-6 PM at the church.
