Gilbert Duff

Gilbert Duff, 91, of Wilmot died Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at Massillon Community Hospital following a sudden illness.

He retired in 1977 from Republic Steel in Massillon after 32 years of service.

Born March 24, 1913 in Marietta, Ohio he was a son of the late John and Lydia West Duff.

He enjoyed gardening and farming.

Gilbert was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Mae Hanlon Duff, who died on March 17, 1980.

He is survived by six daughters, Wilma Felgenhauer of Stone Creek, Jean (Duane) Ruegsegger of Dundee, Ruth (Richard) Gross of Bolivar, Cora (Gary) Grant of Sherrodsville, Carol (Jim) Miller of Scio and Maria Nevenschwander of Apple Creek; four sons, Ronald (Mae) Duff of Strasburg, Donald (Joanne) Duff of Fairborn, Kenneth (Beth) Duff of Strasburg and Howard (Diane) Duff of Strasburg; his companion of 25 years, Audrey Frederick of Wilmot; daughter in law, Virginia Duff of Strasburg; two sisters, Pauline Bosner of Lowell, Ohio and Genevieve Morningstar of Lowell, Ohio; brother, George Duff of Massillon; 35 grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren.

Gilbert was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Duff and eight brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2004 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. Joe Wright officiating. Interment will be at the Grandview Union Cemetery in Strasburg. Friends can call at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8 pm.
