Gladys P. Myers

Gladys P. Myers, 85, of Strasburg died Tuesday, May 24, 2005 in her home following a brief illness.

Born August 16, 1919 in Sugarcreek, she was the daughter of the late Minnie and Harold Moomaw.

She was a retired employee of the Times Reporter.

Gladys was a 1938 graduate of Sugarcreek High School and a longtime member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Strasburg.

On November 23, 1940, she was married to Carl F. Myers, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Sandra Samsa and Susan (Steve) Zimmerman, both of Strasburg; two sons, Kenneth (Adena) Myers of Strasburg and Fred (Lisa) Myers of Euclid; eight grandchildren, Mark (Andrea) Samsa, Lisa Kinsey, Anne (Michael) Gunther, Elizabeth (Ryan) Dean, S/Sgt. Jacob Myers, Scott and Sarah Zimmerman, and Jason Myers; six great grandchildren, Jaclyn and Brittany Gunther, Dylan and Olivia Kinsey, Lauren and Elaina Samsa; and one sister, Bernice Weingarth of Sugarcreek.

Preceding her in death wee three sisters, Edna Auman, Martha Lenhart, and Maxine Mani; granddaughter, Malia Myers; and son-in-law, Jim Samsa.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 28, 2005 at 10am in the First Lutheran Church at Strasburg with Rev. Fred Grosse officiating. Burial will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery in Strasburg. Calling hours are Friday evening from 6-8 pm at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover and one hour prior to services at the church.
