Glenn S. Gentry, 66, of Bolivar died Monday, June 15, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born February 9, 1949 in Canton he was a son of Roy Gentry of Strasburg and the late Helen Brown Gentry. Glenn was also preceded in death by his grandson, Alvie Rennicker and brother in law, Eugene Such.
Glenn was a devoted man of God and was proud to be an ordained minister. He had also been employed at Stone Container and Belden and Blake. Glenn was a member of Sandy Valley Church of God and proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a musical person who enjoyed singing and playing the harmonica. He also loved fishing, riding his Harley and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Glenn will be sadly missed by his wife of 44 years, Pamela J. Brunk Gentry whom he married on October 10, 1970; children, Laura (Richard) Mangus of Gnadenhutten, Master Sergeant Roy (Nikki) Gentry of Florida and Stephanie (Ben) Geiser of Dellroy; sisters, Deanna (Marion) Kelly of Strasburg, Elizabeth Gentry of Coshocton, Elaine Gentry of Canton, Anita Such of Dover; brothers, Alan (Connie) Gentry of Canton and Holly "Buck" Delauder of Canton; step mother, Dolly Gentry of Strasburg; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 18 at 11:00 am in the Sandy Valley Church of God with Bishop Clifford Hughes and Rev. Bob Swiger officiating. Interment will be in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at Rittman. Friends can call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover on Wednesday from 6-8 pm. A fund has been established in Glenn's name at the Bank of Magnolia, PO Box 415 Magnolia, OH 44643 to help offset medical expenses.
