Glenn J. "Boots" Stein

Glenn J. "Boots" Stein, 87, of Dover passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Aultman Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on July 22, 1937, in Fresno, Ohio to the late Clarence and Minnie Lang Stein. Boots was also preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Patricia A. Stein on January 15, 2013; five brothers, three sisters; infant daughter, Linda Joy; infant granddaughter, Kimberly Renae; infant grandson Gabriel Michael; and a great grandson, Elijah Michael Wenig.

He retired from Stein Construction after more than 40 years of dedicated service, where he was known for his incredible skills, and had a remarkable ability to fix almost anything, he was often the go-to person for family and friends alike. His interests extended beyond his work; as he enjoyed gardening and landscaping.

Boots was deeply devoted to his family, with his heart firmly anchored in the lives of his five children: John Michael (Mary) Stein of Akron, Cathy Jean (Steven) Harris of Massillon, Gary Andrew (Corina) Stein of Lisbon, Joy Ellen (Chris Poorman) Frederick of New Philadelphia, and Mark Glenn (Jennie) Stein of New Philadelphia; brothers, Charles (Jan) Stein of Oregon, Pete (Heidi) Stein of California, Gene Stein of Strasburg, and sister, Twila (Byron) Polen of Michigan.. He took great pride in being a loving grandfather to 13 grandchildren and a doting great-grandfather to 22 great-grandchildren, who were a constant source of joy for him.

Boots was a life member of the Dover Eagles and the Salvation Army in Dover. Additionally, he served as an auxiliary member of the New Philadelphia VFW.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 21st starting at 5:00 pm in the Salvation Army at New Philadelphia with Captain Andrew Behr and Captain Lydia Behr officiating. The family will be greeting friends at the Salvation Army on Friday from 3:30 pm until 5:00 pm.
