Gloria Jean Lieser, 70, of Fredericksburg, Ohio passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 13, 2018 in Sevierville, Tennessee.
Born on February 29, 1948 in Frostburg, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Betty (Nine) Swauger. She attended Dover High School. On March 26, 1966, she married William Allan Lieser Sr., who preceded her in death on May 6, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Edith Hogland.
She worked as a teller for Huntington Bank for many years and also worked at Walmart in New Philadelphia. She enjoyed traveling, which is what took her to Tennessee this past week. She also liked going out to dinner and to shows. More than anything, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by her son; William A. “Bill” Lieser Jr., of Dover; daughter, Mary (Greg) Opliger of Fredericksburg; five grandchildren, Eric (Pietrina) Lieser, Kellie Lieser, Hunter and Kodie Duerig, Stephanie Woodhull, Reed J. Lieser; seven great-grandchildren; her brother, Melvin “Skip” Swauger; her sister, Brenda Renner (companion, Freddy); along with many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 5-8 pm. A celebration of Gloria’s life will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, October 15, 2018 at 11:00 am, with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dover. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served at the funeral home in the Famous Endings Museum.
