Gloria Wanda Dessecker

Gloria Wanda Dessecker, 86, of Bolivar passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Hennis Care Centre in Bolivar following an extended illness.

Born in Meadville, PA on September 12, 1929, Gloria was the daughter of the late Lester and Lela (Clinefelter) Waid. She graduated from Sagertown High School with the class of 1947. On June 6, 1953 she married Harry "Leroy" Dessecker, who preceded her in death on February 7, 2016.

Gloria loved playing the piano. She was a very devoted Christian. Years ago, she enjoyed singing in the church choir when she lived in Meadville, PA. She later became a member of the Dover Baptist Temple. She was a homemaker who cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Her family and faith were her number one priority throughout her life.

She will be sadly missed by her children; Daniel L. Dessecker of Dover, Cheryl J. Brinley of Bolivar, Thomas A. Dessecker of Wooster, and Cathleen D. (Kevin) Dunn of Dover; grandchildren, Amy (Patrick) Worrell of Massillon, Brian (Etta) Dessecker of Dover, Mark Dessecker of Dover, Lauren Webster (Ross Bertone) of Mentor, Erin (Peter) Price of Bolivar, Kristen Webster of Bolivar, Ryan Manack of Bolivar, Shelby Dunn of Dover, Dylan Dunn of Dover; and four great-grandchildren, Ruby Worrell, Paige Price, Caleb Price, Tristen Dunn; two brothers, David (Betty) Waid of North Industry, and Clifford (Patricia) Waid of Meadville, PA; along with several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 11:00 am with Pastor Peter Price officiating. Interment will take place at Evergreen Burial Park. There will be a meal following the service. The location will be announced at the service. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.
