Glorya J. Metzger

Glorya J. Metzger, age 67, of Dover, and a long time resident of Strasburg, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021, in Dover’s Park Village Health Care Center.


Born October 8, 1953, in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Harriet Jane Price Dombrowski. Glorya graduated from Garaway High School, and was employed for years by Handy & Harman in Dover as its human resources manager. Later, toward the end of her career, she worked as a scheduler for Judges Mary Wade Space and Nanette DeGarmo VonAllman of the New Philadelphia Municipal Court. Glorya married William O. “Bill” Metzger on September 25, 1993; the couple shared nearly 27 years of marriage prior to Bill’s passing on July 7, 2020. Some of Glorya’s favorite pastimes were traveling and going to dinner with friends.


She is survived by her step-children, Michele (Kay Petrie-Brown) Metzger of New Philadelphia, William “Bill” Metzger of Dover, and Tiffany (Robert) Bucher of Strasburg; her grandchildren, Bryce, Robert Jr. and Chad Bucher; and her niece and nephews, Julie, Brent (Linda) and Bruce (Marla) Metzger.
