Goldie M. Jewell

Goldie M. Jewell, 98, of New Philadelphia died Saturday, December 16, 2006 at Park Village Health Care Center.

Born March 12, 1908 in Birds Run, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Ida Mae Bowers Johnson.

Goldie was a member of the Midvale VFW Auxiliary and in her spare time she enjoyed gardening, flowers, sewing and crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Jewell who died in 1967; brother, Dalton Byers and four grandchildren.

Goldie is survived by a daughter, Betty (Donald) Linard of New Philadelphia; son, Wilburn Hopkins and his companion Erma Snyder of New Philadelphia; sister, Virginia Walters of West Lafayette; 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 22 great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover with Rev. Terry Downin officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Friends can call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 pm.
