Grace M. Burrier Lahmers

Grace M. Burrier Lahmers, age 87, of Bolivar, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025, in Bolivar’s Hennis Care Centre.

Born on September 20, 1937, in Deersville, she was the daughter of the late Elmer W. and Verna V. (Dreher) Beaber. Grace moved with her family at a young age to Dover, and graduated from Dover High School. She married John S. Burrier on January 17, 1957, and the couple shared 51 years of marriage until John’s passing on March 17, 2008. Grace was employed by Dover’s Union Hospital for over 30 years, retiring as a unit clerk. On September 10, 2011, she married Earl A. Lahmers, who survives.

Grace was a member of First Christian Church in Dover. Family and time spent with them were very important to her. Sewing was one of Grace’s favorite pastimes, and she was a skilled seamstress.

Besides her husband, Earl, Grace is survived by her daughter, Jane Burrier, of Carrollton; her grandchildren, Missy (Josh) McKenzie and Ryan Burrier; her great-grandchildren, Hunter, Kylie and Hudson McKenzie, and Stella Burrier; her daughter-in-law, Deborah S. “Debbie” Burrier; her sister, Marsha Braun; her sister-in-law, Jeanette Beaber; her cousin, Austin (Melva) Beckley; her special friend, Kathy J. Mizer; her step-daughters, Robin (Gary) Petrullo and Lisa (Pete) Lengyel; and her many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her first husband, John, Grace was preceded in death by her son, Keith “Sonny” Burrier; her children in infancy; her brother and sister-in-law, Robert Blaine and Bonnie Devore; her brother, James Beaber; and her brother-in-law, Kenneth Braun.

Grace will be cremated through the care of the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. A graveside service is planned and will be announced on this website.
