Grace (Correll) Shroyer, 81, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, January 19, 2007 in the Hennis Care Centre, Dover.
Born April 14, 1925 at New Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Nunzia Brundo Maugeri.
For 25 years, Grace worked as an inspector for Sparta Manufacturing at East Sparta.
She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Dover and it�(TM)s Senior Citizens group. She was also a member of the Lady Elks. She was an avid card player and was a member of two different card clubs. Grace also took great pride in her Italian heritage. Along with her husband Bill, she had served as co-host of the Tuscarawas County Italian-American Festival.
Grace was a loving wife and was deeply saddened by the loss of her first husband, John E. Correll, Sr., who died April 9, 1988. On July 2, 1996 she was again able to feel the joys of marriage with her union to William R. Shroyer, who survives.
Other surviving family members include: two sons, John (Joyce) Correll, Jr., and Terry A. (Linda) Correll, both of Dover; a daughter, Karen Weaver of Stone Creek; step-son Jim (Brenda) Shroyer of Dover; her brother, Joseph (Je) Maugeri of Wisconsin; four sisters, Rose (Tony) Kosierowski, and Ann Kline, both of Canton, Ida (Leonard) Altier of New Philadelphia, and Joan Beitner of Dover; six grandchildren, Chris Correll, Dustin, Nathan & Stephanie Correll, Michael Lineberry & Samantha Weaver; 2 step-grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Grace was a friend to many and will also be especially missed by a special extension of her family, the Casellas.
In addition to her parents and first husband, Grace was preceded in death by: three sisters, Fran Starineri, Angie Smart, and Mary Brundo; and granddaughter Shannon Correll.
A funeral mass celebrating Grace�(TM)s life will be held Monday, January 22, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Dover with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Dover. Following the burial, family and friends will be received at a meal held in the St. Joseph School activity center.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. A Christian Wake service will be conducted Sunday at 8:00 p.m.
