Grace E. Harding, 78, who resided with her daughter in Columbus the past several years and a former Dover and Newcomerstown resident died Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008 at OSU East in Columbus. Ironically, Grace was also born on Easter Sunday, March 31, 1929 in Wolf, the daughter of the late Bernard and Helen (Shafer) Chapman.
Grace was a former employee of the TG &Y Store in Newcomerstown.
She was a member of the Iseleta United Methodist Church near Newcomerstown. She was a 1947 graduate of Newcomerstown High School. She was a member of the Buckhorn Grange and formerly enjoyed delivering Meals On Wheels. She was also an avid collector of cookbooks.
In addition to her parents, Grace was preceded in death by her husband, John V. Harding who died May 2, 1994.
She is survived by three children, Wesley (Sarita) Harding of Prince George, Virginia, Jon (Dorothy) Harding of Dover and Amy (Robert) Haver of Columbus; five grandchildren, Kimberely (Robert) Gentry, Bryan Harding, Heather Harding, Ryan Harding and Eric Harding; two step grandchildren, Steven and Stacy, four great grandchildren and a brother, Dr. Robert Chapman of Normal, Illinois.
Rev. Michael Lowry will officiate graveside services on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 2:30pm in the Dover Burial Park. There are no calling hours.
