Grace E. Steitz

Grace E. Steitz, 85, of Strasburg, died Friday, Oct. 21, 2005, in Park Village Health Care Center, Dover.

Born Aug. 1, 1920, in Strasburg, she was a daughter of the late Edward H. and Alice E. Beitzel Steitz.. Grace graduated from Strasburg Franklin High School, and was a telephone operator in Strasburg and Sugarcreek for nearly twenty years. Additionally she served a long time as financial secretary for Strasburg United Methodist Church, where she was a member. Grace also belonged to the United Methodist Women and the AARP. She enjoyed reading, working puzzles and playing with her dog, Andy.

Survivors include two nieces, Becky Polen and Pat Emig; and two nephews, John and Richard Emig.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Steitz and Marguerite Emig; and by three brothers, Morris, Arthur and Clarence Steitz.

Grace�(TM)s life will be celebrated in a service Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 11 a.m., in the Strasburg United Methodist Church. Pastor Steve Court will officiate. Immediately following the service, there will be a meal served in the church hall. Burial will be private in Grandview Union Cemetery, Strasburg. Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, 232 N.
