Green J. Patrick, 80, of New Cumberland, fell asleep in the arms of Jesus, Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2005.
Green was born Jan. 5, 1925, in Magoffin County, Kentucky; he was a son of the late Conoy and Rebecca Whitley Patrick. At the age of eighteen, Green moved to Ohio where he took a job with the Republic Steel Company in Canton. He also worked for the Timken Roller Bearing and Ford Motor Companies. Green retired as a fireman from the Fairfield Brick Company in Zoarville.
Green attended St. Matthew�(TM)s Community Church on Tabor Ridge and Sandy Valley Church of God in Magnolia. He enjoyed hunting, and loved his dogs. He liked to plant and tend vegetable gardens, and he liked to go out to eat with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Anna M. Houze Patrick, whom he married Jun. 12, 1945, in Seitz, Kentucky; two daughters, Sandra (James) Dunn and Karen S. (Sherman) Burkhart, both of New Cumberland; a son, Daniel Patrick of Sherrodsville and Key West, FL; three grandchildren, Stacey (Troy) Harvey, Michael and Tammy Burkhart; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Bryce Harvey; a sister, Bessie Dunn of New Cumberland; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Dunn, three sisters and two brothers.
Green�(TM)s life will be celebrated in a service Saturday, Aug. 6, at 2 p.m., in the Sandy Valley Church of God, 11281 State Rte. 800 N.E., Magnolia, with Pastors Clifford Hughes, Clarence Miller and Lester Stevens officiating. Burial will be in New Cumberland Cemetery. There will be a meal in the Lake Drive Fellowship Annex, 8158 Lake Dr. N.E., Mineral City (New Cumberland) following the committal.
