H. Donald "Don" Weber

H. Donald "Don" Weber, 84, of Strasburg passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Hennis Care Center in Dover. 

He was born on July 26, 1939 to the late Wilbur and Dorothy Huffman Weber. He was also preceded in death by his sister and brother in law, Norma (Tony) Raber.

 Don's life was filled with dedication and love for his family and community.  Don dedicated 42 years of service as a heavy machine operator with the Operating Engineers Local in Akron before retiring in 2000. Alongside his wife Linda, he also took pride in tending to Grandview Union Cemetery in Strasburg, showcasing their meticulous attention to detail. The couple also owned Weber's Coin Laundry in Strasburg for many years.

A faithful member of First Lutheran Church in Strasburg he could always be found lending a helping hand whenever he was needed. He found joy in taking care of his yard and landscaping with great precision and spent his free time outdoors, whether boating or embarking on long bike rides across the area. Don cherished moments with his grandchildren and took particular delight in supporting them at their high school sporting events and activities. He was a loyal fan of all Strasburg teams, especially girls softball.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Linda Pingstock Weber, whom he married on November 12, 1960. He will be deeply missed by his children Rob (Tanya) Weber of Mineral City and Heather (Jeff) Duff of Strasburg. Don also leaves behind his grandchildren: Scout Weber, Eric Duff, and Hannah Duff.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 16th starting at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Strasburg with Pastor Jason Rissler officiating.  Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery, Strasburg.  The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
