Harold A. Renner

Harold A. Renner, 82, of Bolivar, died Friday, December 21, 2007 at Rose Lane Nursing Home in Massillon.

Born February 10, 1925 in Morrow County, Ohio he was the son of the late Sylvester and Bessie Belle (Shellenbarger) Renner. He married the love of his life, Patricia Ruth Duncan Renner on May 28, 1953.

Harold retired from Wooley Manufacturing, where he was a truck driver for 38 years. He also worked for McClain Grocery and was a lifelong farmer, even after retirement. His family remembers his love of baseball. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and never missed a Canton Akron Indians game. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Harold proudly served our country in the US Army as part of the paratrooper infantry during World War II. He was in the 513th Regiment and fought in the Battle of the Bulge, where he was injured and received a purple heart.

In addition to his wife, other survivors include: three sons; Michael Eugene (wife, Julie) Renner of Orwell, Ohio, Frank Renner of New Philadelphia, Steve (wife, Bonnie) Renner of Dover; two daughters, Ronda Jean (husband, John) Sqambellone of Delaware, Ohio, Barbara Ruth (husband, Joseph) Gibson of Louisville, Ohio as well as 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Harold is preceded in death by: a daughter, Patsy Diane Renner; three brothers, George, Frank, and Kenneth Renner; two sisters, Isabelle Petry and Gladys Kiger.

A celebration of Harold�(TM)s life will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in Strasburg on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Don Snow officiating. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00-1:00 pm. Burial will follow the service at Grandview Union Cemetery in Strasburg where the Dover VFW will conduct a military service. There will be a luncheon at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center following the service of committal.
