Harold Eugene Lengler, 77, of Dover, Ohio passed away Sunday, June 15, 2008 following a brief illness.
Harold was born on December 17, 1930 in Dover, the son of the late Harry and Delpha (Gerber) Lengler.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Sonia Joy (Levengood) Lengler on May 2, 2004. He was also preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Kate Lynn Zaleha.
Harold retired in 1996 as an Inertia welder for the General Electric Company in Dover where he worked for over thirty years.
He was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ in Dover. He was a 43 year member of the Tuscarawas Masonic Lodge #59 in Dover.
He was a 1948 graduate of Dover High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He worked hard is entire life and reached his goal of putting his children through college. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He loved to play jass.
Harold is survived by his four children Michael and Jill Lengler of Dover, Wendy and John Kaiser of Grafton, Ohio, Nancy and Mike Zaleha of Springfield, Ohio and Lori and Mike Phillips of Dover; eight grandchildren, Sam and Callie Lengler, Philip Kaiser, Michael, Clay and Christopher Phillips, and Elisha and Shaylyn Zaleha along with three sisters, Iona Winkler and Edna Clay both of Dover and Bonnie (Rick) McFeeders of Bolivar.
Funeral services celebrating Harold's life will be held Thursday, June 19, 2008 at 12:30pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover with Pastor Michael Lowry officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-9pm where Masonic services will be held at 5:45pm.
