Harold J. Bair

Harold J. Bair, 86, of New Philadelphia died Thursday, April 28, 2005 at his home.

He retired from Eberhart Coal Co. in Strasburg after 38 years of service.

Born April 30, 1918 in Strasburg he was a son of the late Frank and Rosa Sheets Bair.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Uhrichsville and AARP.

Harold was preceded in death by his first wife Lucille Bair who died in 1987 and is survived by his second wife, Jane Bair with whom he would have celebrated 14 years of marriage on June 16, 2005.

He is also survived by two daughters, Carol (Don) Lab of Massillon and Rosa (Ralph) Sylvius of Dundee; two step-children, Ruth Ann (Vincent) Martinelli of New Philadelphia and Rev. Steven (Sherri) Sullivan of Rocky River, Ohio; sister, Helen Arnold of New Philadelphia; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

Harold was also preceded in death by a son, Bill Bair; grandson, Scott Lab; sister, Florence Malcuit and a brother, Albert Bair.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 2, 2005 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. Sarah N. Cerreto officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. Following the burial a reception will be held at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center.
