Harold R. Becker, 75, of Dover, died unexpectedly Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, at his home.
Born Sept. 19, 1927, in Dover, he was the son of the late Clarence and Esther Kilchenman Becker. Harold attended Dover schools, and served honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Ravens Trailer Sales, Dover, following many years of employment as a welder and mechanic.
Harold was a member of St. John�(TM)s United Church of Christ, Dover, and the Tuscarawas Valley Pioneer Power Association. He manufactured three of his own steam traction engines, and he loved to tinker.
Survivors include a son, Jay R. Becker of New Philadelphia; former daughter-in-law, Raeann M. Becker of Morgantown, WV; two granddaughters, Shelley M. and Julie C. Becker; and his dear friend, Mary Lou Bleininger of Dover.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Stalder Becker on Jul. 5, 1991.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at 11 a.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover, with Rev. Steven Daniels officiating. Burial will be in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens.
