Harry C. Renicker, age 82, of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, September 22, 2015, in Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia.
Born April 14, 1933, at Midvale, he was a son of the late Alden Earl "Daley"and Dorothy Shaw Renicker. Harry graduated from Midvale High School and went on to serve honorably with the United States Army in the Korean War. Upon his discharge, he went to work for Warner & Swasey (later Gradall) at New Philadelphia, and attended Fenn College at Cleveland and Kent State University. Harry married the former Joanne E. Tamborini on September 12, 1953, in Roswell's St. Elizabeth Church. He retired from Gradall in 1995 after forty-three years there.
Harry was a member of Sacred Heart Church at New Philadelphia, LCpl Peter Clore Council 2372 of the Knights of Columbus - holding various offices, Sacred Heart Senior Citizens group, and was a fan and supporter of Tuscarawas Central Catholic High School. Additionally, he belonged to the New Philadelphia Post 139 of the American Legion.
Harry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who found great joy in following his grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's school and sporting events.
Survivors include his loving wife, Joanne; his two daughters, Deborah (Mike) Martinelli, and Marcia Bukowsky, both of New Philadelphia; his two sons, John (Robin) Renicker of Dover, and Brian (Michelle "Micki") Renicker of New Philadelphia; his twelve grandchildren, Nicole and Kimberly (Pat Cox) Beans, Jeremy (Becky), Joshua (Kateri) and Jesse (Jen) Renicker, Erin Tingler, Corey (Megan) Reynolds, Chandler Bukowsky, Brien Renicker, Andrea (Matt) Goedel, Keith Renicker and Jessica (Chris Thomas) Kampa; his seventeen great-grandchildren; his brother, David (Carolyn) Renicker of New Philadelphia; and his nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Tammy Sue Renicker; his sister, Ruth Wall; and his brother, Alden "Jack" Renicker.
Family and friends are invited to call at Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, 10 11 a.m. A funeral Mass will follow at 11, with Fr. Jeff Coning as celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia, where military rites will be conducted by the Dover Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. After the committal, there will be a luncheon in Sacred Heart's St. Ambrose Hall.
