Harry "Leroy" Dessecker

Harry "Leroy" Dessecker, 87, of Bolivar died on Sunday, February 07, 2016 at Hennis Care Center in Bolivar.

Born on March 19, 1928 in Roswell, he was the son of the late H. Harry and Margaret Dessecker. He was also preceded in death by his daughter in law, Carol L. Dessecker and two sisters; Erma Adams and Emaline Olivet.

Leroy graduated from Mineral City High School in the class of 1947. He honorably served our country in the United States Army. On June 6, 1953 he married the love of his life, Gloria Waid, who survives. Following 42 years of service, he retired from Sparta Ceramic Company.
He was a member of the Dover Baptist Temple. His family meant the world to him and he enjoyed spending time with them.

In addition to his wife Gloria, he will be sadly missed by his children; Daniel L. Dessecker of Dover, Cheryl J. Brinley of Bolivar, Thomas A. Dessecker of Wooster, and Cathleen D. (Kevin) Dunn of Dover; grandchildren, Amy (Patrick) Worrell of Massillon, Brian (Etta) Dessecker of Dover, Mark Dessecker of Dover, Lauren Webster (Ross Bertone) of Mentor, Erin (Peter) Price of Bolivar, Kristen Webster of Bolivar, Ryan Manack of Bolivar, Shelby Dunn of Dover, Dylan Dunn of Dover; and four great-grandchildren, Ruby Worrell, Paige Price, Caleb Price, Tristen Dunn; along with four nieces, Carol Marks, Marlene Roadpouch, Marjorie Homan, and Linda Beers.

A celebration of Leroy's life will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 11:00 am with Pastor Peter Price officiating. Interment will take place at Evergreen Burial Park. Following the service, a meal will be served at the Roc of the Bolivar Wesleyan Church. Friends are invited to call on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.
