Hazel Anna Bell, 76, of Bowerston, Ohio passed away
Monday, October 26, 2009 at Sunnyslope Nursing Home in
Bowerston after a long illness.
Born on April 16, 1933 in Bergoo, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Orval and Ona Casto McQuain. She is also preceded in death by her sister; Evelyn VanPelt and two brothers, Howard McQuain, who was her favorite brother, and Wilbur McQuain.
Hazel graduated from Madison High School. After high
school, she became a beautician by trade. She owned the former Bell Meadows Beauty and Barbershop in Bowerston.
She was a woman that loved to keep herself busy and always had a project going. Hazel was an incredible cook and loved tending to her garden and plants. She had a very outgoing personality and enjoyed taking gambling trips with her friends and family.
"Her many talents of remodeling earned her the nickname of "Hacksaw Hazel." She now has taken her talents to heaven where she will be "remodeling" in God's work."
Hazel lived part of her life in Spain and Italy; however she cherished her time spent in Spain.
She will be sadly missed by her five daughters; Victoria (Robert) Wood of New Philadelphia, Ohio, Linda (Barry) Easlick of Scio, Ohio, Diana Lawrence of Wilmington, Delaware, Gayle (Felix) Yosick of Bowerston, Ohio, and Leigh Ann (Wayne) Chilton of Cadiz; Ohio, ten grandchildren, Jama (Steward) Sealy
of Zima, Japan, William(Aurora) Easlick of Washington, DC, Derrick (Tina) Easlick of Scio, Ohio, Christopher and (Tanya) Easlick of Amsterdam, Ohio, Darren and Kaci Yosick both of Bowerston, Ohio, Ryan (Summer) Chilton of Drummond, Oklahoma, Tim (Rachel)
Chilton of Alliance, Ohio, Alex and Anna Chilton both of Cadiz, Ohio her sister, Virginia (William) Stencil of Knotts Island, North Carolina, as well as 12 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends.
In honoring Hazel's wishes, cremation has taken place at Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in New
Philadelphia. There will not be any calling hours or
