Hazel H. Mutschelknaus

Hazel H. Mutschelknaus, 92, of Ashland, and a longtime resident of Dover, died Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002, in Samaritan Hospital, Ashland, following a brief illness.

Born Apr. 5, 1910, in Dover Twp., Tuscarawas Co., she was a daughter of the late William and Anna Rachel Fleck Menges. Hazel attended school in Dover, and married Ray Mutschelknaus on Jun. 27, 1931. Ray died on Apr. 12, 1987. Hazel was an Avon representative for over twenty-five years, and was also an employee of Dover City Schools.

She was a member of St. John�(TM)s United Church of Christ, Dover, and its Rebekah Circle and Adult Bible Class.

Survivors include two daughters, Karen (Jerry) Johnson of Houston, TX, and Sandra (William) Castle of Ashland; three grandchildren, Kim (Melissa) Kaiser of Ashland, Melinda (Donny) Sovine of Perrysville, and Kevin Reifenschneider of Houston; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Ray, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Anola Shutt and Florence Davidson.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at 11 a.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover, with Pastor Steve Daniels officiating. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery, Sugarcreek. There will be a reception in St. John�(TM)s United Church of Christ following the committal. Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, 5-8 p.m., in the funeral home.
