Hazel L. Fisher, 93, of Bolivar and formerly of Winfield died Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the home of her daughter in Bolivar.
Born February 15, 1920 in Fresno, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Esta Pretzeus Stingel. Hazel was also preceded in death by her husband of almost 66 years, Eugene "Gene" Fisher on August 22, 2006; four brothers and four sisters.
She had retired from the Former Harts store in New Philadelphia after 22 years of service. Hazel was a member of the Winfield United Methodist Church and the Farm Bureau. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and in her earlier years, going dancing with Gene. But the most important part of Hazel's life was her immediate family and her extended family as well. No one was a stranger at her home, from the ladies at the church; to the farmhands working their land everyone was welcomed, and most importantly, well fed.
A wonderful and loving mother and grandmother, Hazel will be sadly missed by her children, Shirley (Roger) Miller of Massillon, Linda (Dick) Mally of Austin, Texas, Carol (Roger) Reardon of Bolivar and Richard (Bev) Fisher of Dover; grandchildren, Marissa (Caleb) Swift, Stacy (Andy) Burrichter, Erica (Ryan) Holt, Jarrett (Briana) Reardon, Matthew (fianc Linsey Moran) Fisher, Jennifer (Derek) Grewell and a step grandson, Troy (Jennifer) Miller and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 21 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Rev. LuAnn Youngman and Rev. Dan Legg officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Friends can call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8 pm. Those wishing to express their fondest memories of Hazel may do so by visiting the on line obituaries and flowers link on the funeral homes website.
Memorial contributions may be made to Winfield United Methodist Church.
