Helen L. Calendine

Helen L. Calendine, 96, of New Philadelphia passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 in the Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing Home at Schoenbrunn.

She was born on May 9, 1928 in Dover and was a daughter of the late Homer and Olive Metzger Affolter. Helen was also preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Calendine on May 6, 1977; son, Jerry Calendine; brothers, Benny, James and Edward Affolter; sisters, Mary Calendine, Viola Bucher and June Swonger.

She is survived by her sister, Martha Dillon of New Philadelphia, and many nieces and nephews including her caretaker, Ron Bucher of New Philadelphia.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 7th starting at 1:00 PM in the Maple Grove Cemetery at Dover with Pastor David Wing officiating. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover is handling arrangements.

The family would like to thank the staff, doctors and nurses for their wonderful and compassionate care shown towards Helen the past seven years.
