Helen E. George, 84, of New Philadelphia, passed away Thursday, Jun. 9, 2005, in Country Club Retirement Campus, Dover, following a long illness.
Born Oct. 22, 1920 in Barberton, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Ruth Graham White. Helen graduated Barberton High School in 1938, and married Donald M. George on Feb. 18, 1939. The couple shared sixty-six years of love and devotion to one another. Helen leaves a precious legacy of family love and devotion as well. She lived a life dedicated to her family, her children, and her grandchildren. Helen was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia.
She leaves her husband, Don; two sons, Donald (Janet) George of Akron, and Thomas (Angie) George of Shelby; a daughter, Jennifer George of New Philadelphia; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Alice (Bob) Dilworth of Barberton; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Linda.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Harriet Grimes.
Helen�(TM)s life will be celebrated in a service Monday, Jun. 13, at 10:30 a.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, 246 E. High Ave., New Philadelphia, with Pastor Bill Sowers officiating. Immediately following the services, a meal will be served in Broadway Church. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m., Monday, in Greenlawn Cemetery, Akron.
