Helen M. Haas

Helen M. Haas, age 86, of Dover, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018, in Community Hospice’s Truman House, New Philadelphia.

Born June 25, 1931, in New Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Mary Strauss Schneider. Helen attended school in New Philadelphia, and, on July 15, 1951, married Joe Reuben Haas. The couple reared two children and shared sixty-three years of marriage prior to Joe’s passing on February 23, 2015.

Helen was a loving homemaker who liked baking and keeping her home immaculate. She enjoyed camping with her family in years past. Helen was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Dover.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Terry (Deb) Haas of Hesperia, California, and Jodie (Victor) Roth of Dover; her grandchildren, Brett (Sommer) Haas, Christina (Chris) Harris, and Lauren and Erica Roth; her great-grandchildren, Skylar, Luke, Kayden and Eviannia; her siblings, Eva Harder, Delbert (Betty) Schneider, Mary Jane Slayton, Dean Schneider and Margaret Ann (Ed) Smith; and her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, and her husband, Joe, Helen was preceded in death by her brother, Don Schneider.
