Helen M. Maus, 93, of the Park Village Health Care Center and formerly of Evergreen drive, Dover, Ohio, died Friday, August 13, 1999 in the center following an extended illness.
Born August 16, 1905 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Christian and Sophie Becker Maurer.
Helen was a member of the St. John’s United Church of Christ at Dover and its Rebecca Circle. She was also a member of the Dover Garden Club and the Three Arts Club. She was a 1924 graduate of Dover High School and attended Wittenberg College. She won awards for her dried floral arrangements and also enjoyed gardening and reading.
She was preceded in death by her husband Francis Maus who died on March 5, 1996.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Scribner of Dayton, one grandson Curtis (Laureli) Scribner of Billings, Montana, her great granddaughter Sarah Scribner, and a sister-in-law Isabelle Maurer of Dover.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Victor Maurer.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11am in Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover, with Rev. Steve Daniels officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends can call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10-11am.
