Helen Margaret Wardell, 90, of Strasburg, died Wednesday, November 3, 1999 in New Dawn Health Care Center after a lengthy illness.
Born June 12, 1909 at Strasburg, she was daughter of the late Edwin and Nevada Wertz Wagner.
She graduated from Strasburg High School in 1927 and from Bowling Green State University in 1932. She taught music at several schools in the Tuscarawas County area. Margaret was also involved in the Lutheran Guild class and the Willing Workers Society.
Margaret married her husband, the late Charles M. Wardell on June 20, 1937 at the First Lutheran Church at Strasburg where she was also a member. She had served as director and organist for many years of the Senior and Childrens choirs at the church. Margaret also belonged to the Tuscarawas County Senior Citizens where she was secretary.

In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by a grandson, Stephen Paul Wardell.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 5, at 2pm in the First Lutheran Church at Strasburg with Pastor Fred Grosse officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. Friends may call at the church from 1:30-2:00pm on Friday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to either the First Lutheran Church in Strasburg or to the Alzheimer's Association.
