Helen O. Swinderman

Helen O. Swinderman, 93, of Dover died Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Union Hospital.

She retired from GE after 30 years of service.

Born September 21, 1918 in Beach City, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Margaret Shear Hoover. Helen was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Swinderman on July 12, 1974; sister, Mabel Widder and step father, Ole Torp.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Dover and was also a former member of the Dover VFW Auxiliary. Helen enjoyed fishing and reading.

Helen is survived by two daughters, Darleen Owen and Robin (James) Meese both of Dover; brother, Carl Hoover of Oregon; sister, Artist Kearns of North Carolina; grandchildren, Mark (Shawn) Owen, Lori Meese and her companion Todd Keffer and Melissa (Jack) Caldwell; great grandchildren, Jenna Owen and Logan Caldwell and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Those wishing to express their fondest memories of Helen may do so by visiting the on line obituaries and flowers link on the funeral homes website.
